History of Football: Norwich City FC

Origins: The club was formed at the Criterion Cafe in White Lion Street, Norwich on Tuesday, June 17th 1902 in a meeting called by Robert Webster and Joseph Cowper Nutchey. They played their first competitive match at Newmarket Road before moving to a new ground- The Nest (a disused chalk pit). Following voluntary liquidation in 1917 the club was reconstituted in in 1919 and moved to Carrow Road in 1935.
