Club Nicknames: The club took its name from the Heart of Midlothian jail, which was demolished in 1817 and their badge is a heart, based on the Heart of Midlothian mosaic on the Royal Mile - successive streets that form the main thoroughfare of the Old Town of the city of Edinburgh. The club's most well-known nickname is "Hearts" and the rhyming "The Jam Tarts" or "The Jambos".
