A group of students from Cambridge University wrote 11 rules of football that could be agreed upon universally. Known as the original Cambridge Rules and nailed to trees surrounding Parker’s Piece – a large, public, green space in the centre of Cambridge - this was the first time that any kind of standard laws had been applied to football. |
